ntail is operated by Factual Tech AB, registered in Sweden. Customer data is processed and stored in the EU by default — see our imprint for full registration details.
Encrypted by default
Every connection to ntail is encrypted in transit, and everything you store is encrypted at rest — with no configuration, toggle or add-on plan required.
Off the public cloud, if you need it
Because we run our own European infrastructure, we can deploy a dedicated cluster fully off the public cloud — off AWS, Google Cloud or Azure — for teams with that requirement.
Data protection and GDPR
For the data your own applications send through your ntail cluster, you are the data controller and Factual Tech AB acts as your data processor under Article 28 of the GDPR — we process it only on your instructions, under a data processing addendum that's incorporated into every contract, no separate negotiation required. For your account and billing details, we're the controller, and that's covered separately in our privacy policy.

Common questions
Is ntail a European company?
Yes. ntail is operated by Factual Tech AB, a company registered in Sweden, registration number 559383-6439. We are not a subsidiary of a non-EU cloud provider, and by default customer data is processed and stored in the EU.
Where is my data hosted?
In the EU by default, on infrastructure we operate ourselves in Europe rather than rent from a public cloud. Other regions, including the US, are available on request. For teams with a specific residency requirement, we can deploy into a specific region or country, or run a dedicated cluster fully off the public cloud.
Can I run ntail fully off the public cloud?
Yes. Because ntail runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves rather than a hyperscaler's virtual machines, we can deploy a dedicated cluster fully off the public cloud, for teams that need to keep data off AWS, Google Cloud or Azure entirely. Talk to us about your specific requirement.
Is data encrypted?
Yes, by default and with no configuration required. Data is encrypted in transit between your applications and ntail, and at rest on our storage layer.
Are you GDPR compliant, and what's your role?
For the data your applications send through your own cluster, you are the data controller and we are the data processor, under a data processing addendum incorporated into every contract. How do I report a security issue?
